C program to display ASCII value of a character

 C program to display ASCII value of a character

        In this example we will learn how to display the ASCII value of any character entered by the user through keyboard. To solve this program we must have knowledge about ASCII.

PROGRAM

#include<stdio.h>
int main()
{
    char c;
    printf("Enter a character : ");
    scanf("%c",&c);
    printf("ASCII value of %c =%d",c,c);
    return 0;
}

OUTPUT:

ASCII:

        ASCII Stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. It is widely used in computers of all types. It is used to create a standard for character-sets used in electronic components. ASCII codes are of two types - ASCII-7 and ASCII-8.

  • ASCII-7: It is a 7 bit standard ASCII code. In ASCII-7 the first 3 bits are zone bits and the next 4 bits are for the digits. ASCII-7 represents 128 unique symbols.

  • ASCII-8: It is an extended version of ASCII-7. ASCII-8 is an 8 bit code having 4 bits for zone and 4 bits for the digits. It represents 256 unique symbols.

  • Codes 0-31 represents character that cannot be printed like, Carriage return(CR), Control(Ctrl),etc.
  • Codes 48 -57 stands for numeric 0-9.
  • Codes 65-90 stands for uppercase letters A-Z.
  • Codes 97-122 stands for lowercase letters a-z.
  • Codes 128-255 stands for the extended ASCII codes.

C program to display the upper triangle and lower triangle of the given square Matrix using function

 C program to display the upper triangle and lower triangle of the given square Matrix using function     In this example, we will display the upper triangle and lower triangle of a given square matrix using function. Here in the output section we have taken a 3x3 matrix whose values are entered as shown in the output. After entering the elements of the square matrix it will display the upper triangle and lower triangle of the matrix entered. PROGRAM TO DISPLAY THE UPPER TRIANGLE AND LOWER TRIANGLE OF THE GIVEN SQUARE MATRIX USING FUNCTION #include <stdio.h> #include <conio.h> void  uppert( int , int , int  [100][100]); void  lowert( int , int , int  [100][100]); void  main() {      int  i,j,c,d,a[100][100];     printf( "Enter the size of the given square matrix : " );     scanf( "%d" ,&c);     d=c; ...

C Program to determine the Range and Average of the values entered by the user(to terminate enter -1).

C Program to determine the Range and Average of the values entered by the user(to terminate enter -1).     This is a program to calculate the range and average of the values entered by the user and to terminate it by entering -1 and it will determine the highest-value, lowest-value, range, average and also it will count the number of values entered by the user. PROGRAM: #include <stdio.h> #include <math.h> int   main () {      int   count = 0 ;      float   value , high , low , average , range , sum = 0 ;      printf ( "Enter the values (to terminate enter -1) : \n " );      while ( 1 )     {          scanf ( "%f" ,& value );          if ( value !=- 1 )         {      ...

C Program to find the sum of the elements of a 2-D array.

 C Program to find the sum of the elements of a 2-D array.     In this example, we will find the sum of the elements of a 2-D array allowing the user to enter the row size and column size according to their requiremnts.      Here in the output we have entered a row  size 3 and column size 3. PROGRAM #include <stdio.h> #include <conio.h> void   main () {      int   a [ 50 ][ 50 ], r , c , i , j , sum = 0 ;      printf ( "Enter the row size and column size of the array :" );      scanf ( " %d%d " ,& r ,& c );      printf ( "Enter the elements of the array : " );      for ( i = 0 ; i < r ; i ++)     {          for ( j = 0 ; j < c ; j ++)       ...

C++ program to define a class circle to represent circles. Add a data member radius to store the radius of a circle. Write member functions area() and perimeter() to compute the area and perimeter of a circle.

  C++ program to define a class circle to represent circles. Add a data member radius to store the radius of a   circle. Write member functions area() and perimeter() to compute the area and perimeter of a circle.     To define a Circle class in C++, we start by declaring the class with the class keyword, followed by the name of the class. In this case, we'll call it Circle . We'll then define a private data member to store the radius of the circle. Here's the code to do that:    class Circle {      private:      double radius;    };          Next, we need to define public member functions that can set and get the value of the radius, as well as calculate the area and perimeter of the circle. Here's the full code for the Circle class: class Circle { private: double radius; public: void setRadius(double r) { radius = r; } dou...

 C Program to check if a given square matrix is symmetric or not using function.     In this example, we will check if a given square matrix entered by the user is symmetric or not. Here in the output we have taken a square matrix of 3x3. PROGRAM TO CHECK IF A GIVEN SQUARE MATRIX IS SYMMETRIC OR NOT USING FUNCTION #include <stdio.h> #include <conio.h> void  symmetric( int , int , int  [50][50]); void  main() {      int  row,column,i,j,a[50][50];     printf( "Enter the size of the matrices: " );     scanf( "%d" ,&row);     column=row;     printf( "Enter the matrix : " );      for (i=0;i<row;i++)     {          for (j=0;j<column;j++)         {    ...
